Solving Hunger Today

Boxes of food

We all need to eat every day to fuel our bodies and minds.

Solving Hunger Today is our foundational strategy to nourish our neighbors in need - getting food to over 100 community partners who, in turn, distribute that food to our food insecure neighbors.

BVFB Partner Agencies

Community non-profits or church groups who distribute free food to neighbors or prepare meals and snacks to nourish our food insecure neighbors.   Since 1985, these Partner Agencies have nourished 2/3 of the people served through BVFB's network, distributing over 2/3 of all food passing through BVFB's warehouse.

Brazos Valley Food Bank Programs

BVFB started programs in 2005 to better serve vulnerable populations who might be falling through the cracks, such as children, seniors, rural neighbors, neighbors with chronic health conditions, and neighbors with access barriers.  To learn more about each of our programs, click through the tabs below.

Our Children's Programs partner with schools and youth programs to get food to children where they already are to take home for nourishment during off-school times.

Senior Outreach Program - partners with senior serving organizations to get food to seniors who need it most, directly to their homes.

Mobile Food Pantry - monthly pop-up food distributions - trucks of food passed out to neighbors in need by volunteers in areas of high need and few resources.

Screen & Intervene works with medical partners (clinics, hospitals, doctor's offices, and other healthcare organizations) to identify food insecurity within their patient populations and connect those food insecure patients with community food resources.

Project GotEM delivers food directly to Bryan/College Station residents who were impacted by COIVID, are food insecure and lack access to community resources.
