The Brazos Valley Food Bank has “Red Barrel” collection bins for individuals to donate food into while they shop at local grocery stores. Shoppers may purchase non-perishable food and non-food items to place in the barrel on your way out. Individuals can also bring in food from home to place in the barrel instead of bringing the food to the Brazos Valley Food Bank warehouse.
The food is picked up weekly by Brazos Valley Food Bank employees and brought back to the warehouse for processing. The Brazos Valley Food bank picks up an average of 600 pounds of food per month from the Red Barrel program
