10. Use your Voice! Advocate for strong nutrition services in the Farm Bill! Write to your Congressman in support of Farm Bill 2025 here. Your voice is crucial—let's ensure robust nutrition services for all!

11. Join your local Hunger Coalition. By sending an email to endhunger@standrewsbcs.org, you can receive information about the monthly meetings. Your involvement can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those struggling with hunger.

VOLUNTEER

  1. Schedule a Family Friday volunteer shift – Make it a fun family tradition!  Volunteering together provides a unique opportunity for families to create shared experiences and memories that can strengthen family relationships. Summer Fridays are a GREAT time to volunteer together at BVFB!

  2. Volunteer in BVFB’s on-site garden – Get your hands dirty and help grow fresh produce! BVFB's onsite garden is managed by our Together We Grow Program Participants.

  3. Volunteer at BVFB for your child's next birthday party activity – Celebrate with a purpose! Instead of a traditional party, volunteering adds a sense of purpose to the celebration. It teaches children that birthdays can be about giving as well as receiving.

  4. Volunteer at a BVFB Food Pantry Partner – Find contact information for our food pantry partners here and arrange to volunteer with them. Make a difference in your community!

  5. Commit to a monthly volunteer shift all year long – Be a consistent force for good! Volunteering consistently allows you to build strong relationships with staff, fellow volunteers, and the people you serve. 

  6. Lend your lingual skills – Help interpret for neighbors at a community-based food pantry. Contact a food pantry partner here - inquire about their interpretation needs, and arrange to volunteer with them.

  7. Bring your employees or students – Organize a team bonding experience Working with non-profits often exposes team members to different perspectives and challenges. This can increase empathy and understanding within the team, leading to a more supportive and inclusive environment.
